TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(The important bits to know)
When you confirm your booking by the payment of a deposit you are entering into a short-term holiday letting contract between 'you', the holidaymaker, and the property owner, Mr J D Feilden. Please read the following conditions of let carefully.
When the holiday maker completes the booking and makes payment they are certifying that he/she takes full responsibility for ensuring that all members of the party adhere to these Terms and Conditions. The main holiday maker must be a member of the party occupying the property, must be 18 years of age or over.
A deposit of 30% of the rental price will secure your dates. The remaining balance for the booking and a damage deposit of £100 should be paid 30 days before the start of the booking date. Failure to pay the balance in full by the due date will constitute a cancellation of the booking by the holiday maker. The full rental price is payable at the time of booking if the occupation date is less than 30 days from the date of booking.
CANCELLATION BY THE HOLIDAY MAKER
Cancellations should be made in writing by email. In the event of a cancellation, we will attempt to fill the booking and if successful we will refund all monies paid. Where we are unable to fill the booking at the same value as your agreed booking and cancellation is made 30 days or less before the rental period, we will be unable to refund any monies paid. We will consider special exceptions on an individual basis but strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance.
CANCELLATION BY THE OWNER
The property owner will endeavour to make sure the stated property is available for the dates contracted. In the unlikely event the property becomes not available and the property owner has to cancel the booking, we will notify the holiday maker as far in advance as possible. We will also endeavour to find the holiday maker suitable alternative accommodation. If suitable alternative accommodation cannot be found, the holiday maker shall be entitled to a full refund. The property owner shall only be liable to return the monies received. No compensation or consequential losses shall be paid.
WEATHER AND CONDITIONS
Due to the remote & mountainous location of the Lodge, all aspects of the weather must be considered in relation to the lodge and the booking made. Any weather factors that may cause discomfort during the guests stay at the lodge cannot be at fault by the owner. Any compensation for this case will NOT be covered by the owner.
Whilst every care is taken to provide a true and accurate description of the property, over time, alterations are made and some things do change. The holiday maker accepts that no refunds are available for such discrepancies.
The mountainous location of the bunkhouse means that it is completely off gird and self sustained. This does mean that there maybe a little bit of maintenance and up-keep on your stay but nothing that we feel would be too inconvenient.
There is strict no-smoking policy inside the property. You must permit the owners reasonable access to carry out urgent maintenance. You must not sublet or share the property with anyone not nominated on the booking. The maximum number of persons to be accommodated in the property is 18 and must not be exceeded. If it is found that more people than agreed are using the property, this will be considered a breach of contract and the holidaymaker and his/her party will be asked to leave immediately without any refund. The property owner is entitled to ask the holidaymaker to leave the property without any refund if, in the property owner's opinion, the behaviour of the holidaymaker and/or his/her party is considered unreasonable. Please advise the owner of any damage/breakages immediately so they can be attended to/replaced for the next guests. In cases where damage has been more than accidental 'wear and tear', then a deduction will be made from the refund of the damage deposit.
The property owner takes no responsibility for the personal possessions of the holiday maker or the holiday maker's party. Vehicles and possessions are left entirely at the risk of the holiday makers. Children must be supervised at all times.
SAFETY AND ACCESS
Please bear in mind that the property was built before the days of regulations governing door height, stairway head height and banister height etc. We ask that you take due care as you will not be familiar with the layout of the accommodation. Random slate slab floors are not as uniformly even as modern flooring.
There are unfenced rivers and streams and old trees surrounding the property.
Access to the Lodge is via a single track which is currently uneven and only accessible by 4 x 4 vehicles. On your arrival you will be met by Mr J Feilden or a staff member who will advise if your vehicle is suitable.
One lift down to the Lodge is given to transport belongings and another for departure which is included in your fee. Any subsequent lifts can be arranged to and from the Lodge during the duration of your stay for a price of £15 per ride. Journeys only to be made between the hours of 9am to 9pm.
All non 4X4 vehicles will be parked roughly 1KM from the lodge on off-road parking. We can park a maximum of 5 cars due to the land being National Park Land. Any more than 5 cars we suggest parking in the local village of Llanberis were there are paid parking facilities at £5/day. Vehicles are left at owners risk.
Unless otherwise agreed the letting commences at 3.00 pm on the day of arrival and ends at 11.00 am on the day of departure.
